He’s already enrolled at Texas A&M, but the awards continue to roll-in for former Allen quarterback Kyler Murray.

The National High School Coaches Association, which annually honors student-athletes in 20 boys and girls sports, has named Murray as its 2015 National Senior Athlete of the Year in football.  The NHSCA award is presented in cooperation with High School Football America. It’s the 16th straight year that the NHSCA has handed-out its Senior Athlete of the Year Awards.

Murray was front-and-center in 2014 as he and his teammates captured the school’s third straight Texas state championship and third straight High School Football America “mythical” national title.

The dual-threat QB was 42-0 as a starter for Allen. Last year, Murray threw for 4,713 yards and 54 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,495 yards and 25 TDs. Off-the-field, in addition to donating his time as a youth football instructor, he has volunteered locally as part of the Reading with the Eagles youth literacy-outreach and anti-bullying programs. He also serves as a mentor to several student team managers with special needs.
