Fisher High School won’t be playing varsity football this year. According to The News-Gazette, the Bunnies will only play a JV schedule this year due to a lack of numbers.

The newspaper reports that the school, which plays in Illinois’ lowest classification (1A), will field a 23-man JV team.

Last year, Fisher finished 1-7. Prior to COVID-19, the Bunnies had back-to-back 8-3 seasons in 2018 and 2019. Both years, the team advanced to the second round of the Illinois 1A playoffs.
