Maine South makes its first appearance in the 2021 High School Football America Illinois Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Hawks enter the statewide rankings at No. 9 after knocking-off former No. 8 Neuqua Valley 14-13.

Next up for Maine South will be No. 8 Marist in the Class 8A state semifinals.

In Class 7A, No. 4 Brother Rice solidified its spot in the rankings created with our proprietary algorithm. The Crusaders beat No. 5 Mount Carmel (Chicago) for the second this year to advance to the state semis. After a 43-36 win during the regular season, BR beat the Caravan 41-28 in the state quarterfinals.
