Defending state champ Loyola Academy is back in the 8A state championship game. The Ramblers, ranked #1 in the High School Football America Illinois Top 10, will face-off against Maine South Saturday night for the title in the state’s biggest classification. Loyola, which is also ranked #19 in our national Top 25, played Maine South back on September 3rd, escaping with a 44-43 win in which the Ramblers prevented a last minute two-point conversion attempt by Maine South that would have given the Hawks the win.
In the 7A championship game, #2 East St. Louis will face #10 Plainfield North in the championship game. In the 6A championship game, #4 Prairie Ridge will face #6 Sacred Heart-Griffin.
