Center Grove begins the year at the top of the High School Football America Indiana Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Trojans have the toughest schedule in the state that head coach Eric Moore hopes will lift the program back to the top of the heap in Class 6A.
CG streak of three straight state titles ended last year in the state semifinals with a loss to eventual state champ Ben Davis. The Trojans will try to avenge that loss with a regular season matchup against the No. 3 Giants on September 13.
Center Grove opens next week against No. 2 Brownsburg. In addition to the Bulldogs and Ben Davis, the Trojans will also play No. 5 Cathedral and No. 7 Westfield during the regular season.
The Trojans, who are also ranked No. 25 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, will test themselves on the national scene as well with two out-of-state games against teams in our Top 300. On September 6th, CG travels to No. 84 Trinity in Kentucky. Then, they’ll close-out the regular season at home against national power St. Frances Academy of Maryland, ranked No. 18 in the HSFA 300.
The top eight teams in our statewide rankings are also in our national rankings:
- Brownsburg at No. 80
- Ben Davis at No. 95
- East Central at No. 147
- Cathedral at No. 166
- Bishop Chatard at No. 203
