This weekend marks the return of high school football across California. After COVID-19 destroyed the 2020 fall season, this weekend will be the first time that actual games will be played since state champs were crowned in December 2019.

On Friday, I connected with Mission Oak (Tulare, California) head coach Mike Machado, whose team cleared California Department of Health COVID-19 protocols, which allows them to open the season Saturday against Central Valley Christian.
