The Melville school wrapped-up the outright title with a 27-21 win over No. 3 Archbishop Stepinac.

As far as the statewide rankings, Iona Prep has a slight edge over the Friars, even though St. Anthony’s beat the Gaels 48-42 in their regular season clash. The edge comes via a stronger strength of schedule, a major part of the HSFA rankings algorithm.
