Ohio’s historic Tanks Memorial Stadium, home of the Ironton Fighting Tigers, will host an Ohio vs. USA high school football tripleheader on Saturday, September 10. The Ironton Gridiron Classic will feature three teams that were nationally-ranked by High School Football America last year.

Moeller, which made it to the Ohio Division I state semifinals in 2021, was ranked No. 78 in the HSFA 100. The Crusaders finished 11-4.
Good Counsel ended last season right behind Moeller at No. 79 in America. The Falcons were 7-5, finishing runner-up in the powerful Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC).
The middle game features 2021 No. 84 DeMatha (Maryland) taking-on Benedictine, which advanced to the Ohio Division II regional semifinals last year, finishing with an 8-3 record. DeMatha was 7-3, but its losses were only by a total of 14 points and all three L’s were against Top 100 teams.
Host Ironton will close-out the tripleheader against Johnson Central from Kentucky. The Fighting Tigers finished 11-2 last year, advancing to the Division V regional semifinals.
Johnson Central was a runner-up in Kentucky Class 4A in 2021. The Golden Eagles finished 12-2, losing to Boyle County in the state championship game.
The event was put together with the help of Prep Gridiron Logistics (PGL), the #1 high school football promoter in America. All of the games will aired on FloFootball.
Last year, PGL teamed-up with FloSports, a leading sports streaming and original content network, to bring elite high school football games to audiences around the world. This is the second year of a four-year deal between the two.
