Summerville High School’s John McKissick announced his retirement Tuesday.

Two days of rumor became fact Tuesday as Summerville High School‘s John McKissick announced his retirement.

McKissick steps-down as the winningest high school football coach in America.  McKissick coached the Green Wave for 63 years.

The search for McKissick’s replace is already underway.  There’s no word on whether to school will go with an interim coach or search for a new coach with the start of the South Carolina high school football season about five weeks away.
