Jamestown wins North Dakota 11A high school football championship

Jamestown reversed its regular season loss to St. Mary’s Central Friday to capture the North Dakota 11A high school football championship. The Bluejays, who entered the game ranked No. 3 in the High School Football America North Dakota Top 5, beat the Saints 41-27 in the championship game.

St. Mary’s enter the game ranked No. 2 in our statewide rankings. During the regular season, the defending state champs beat Jamestown 20-7.

Leading the way for the Blue Jays offensively were Jakob Schempp and Payton Hochhalter. Schempp rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Hochhalter passed for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
