Kansas high school football player dies

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Luke Schemm, a senior football player at Wallace County High School, has died after collapsing during a Tuesday night playoff game.

WJHL-TV reports that Schemm died at a local hospital after collapsing on the sidelines during his team’s 8-Man Division I playoff game against Otis Bison High School.  Schemm reportedly had just scored a touchdown and extra point.

Schemm is the eighth high school football player to die this year.
