Kansas moving forward with 2020 high school football season as planned

The Kansas State High School Activities Association is sticking with its original plan for high school football in the Jayhawk State.

The KSHSAA voted 5-4 against a plan to reduce the regular season to eight games with regular season games starting after September 8. Fall practice will start as scheduled on August 17 with the first regular season games scheduled for September 4.

According to a news release on the KSHSAA website, local school districts retain the right to modify the start dates for practice or competition based on their local and county health recommendations.
