Kapa’a wins Hawaii Division II high school football championship

For the first-time ever, Kapa’a is a Hawaii high school football state champ. The Warriors blasted Kamehameha of Maui 61-7 for the state’s Division II title.

Kapa’a used a powerful rushing game in the win. The Warriors finished with 555 yards of total offense, including a state tournament-record 479 yards rushing.

Kapa’a, which was playing in its fifth Division II title game in the last six seasons, finish 8-0. During the two playoff games, the Warriors outscored their opponents 112-7.
