Kenesaw wins Nebraska D-2 high school football title

Kenesaw capped a perfect 13-0 season with a 46-40 win over Sandhills/Thedford in the Nebraska Class D-2 state championship game at Memorial Stadium at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

The Blue Devils were led by senior quarterback Tyson Denkert, who ran the ball 55 times for 303 yards with six touchdowns. Earlier in the year, Denkert became the 56th Nebraska high school football player to rush for more than 5,000 yards in a career.
