The 2024 South Carolina high school football season opens today for members of the South Carolina Independent School Association with teams in the South Carolina High School League beginning on August 2. Below are all of the key dates in the SCHSL and SCISAA.

2024 Key Dates in South Carolina

South Carolina High School League

  • First practice – August 2
  • First games – August 23 (Week 0); August 30 (Week 1)
  • Regular season ends – November 1
  • Playoffs begin – November 8
  • State Championships – December 5-7

South Carolina Independent School Association

  • First practice – July 25
  • First games – August 16 (Week 0); August 23 (Week 1)
  • Regular season ends – November 1
  • Playoffs begin – November 8
  • State Championships – November 22-23
