Ohio small school high school football powers Kirtland and Versailles battled Friday for the Division VI high school football championship. Kirtland entered the game with six state crowns. Versailles took to Tom Benson Stadium, on the campus of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with seven state titles.
Kirtland and Versailles each have seven titles after the Hornets convincing 32-15 victory. It also avenged Versailles’ win over Kirtland in the 2021 Division V championship game, which snapped the Hornets’ 55-game win streak that is the second longest in Ohio high school football history.
