Lee County’s 2024 high school football schedule will test the Trojans. But, that’s not anything new for the South Georgia program that always challenges itself with a tough non-region schedule.
In addition to its non-region matchups, LC will play in arguably the toughest region in the state, regardless of classification. The bi-annual realignment by the Georgia High School Association placed the Trojans in Class 5A Region 2 with 2023 state champs Thomas County Central (6A) and Coffee (5A). The six-team region also includes Houston County, Northside (Warner Robins) and Veterans.
Lee County, TCC, Coffee and Houston County all finished in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, last year. TCC was ranked No. 86, followed by Coffee at No. 89, the Trojans at No. 152 and Houston County at 231.
As far as the non-region portion of its schedule, Lee County opens with Warner Robins, which finished No. 249 in the nation. After games against Hapeville (August 23) and Tift county (August 30), the Trojans will travel to Colquitt County, which finished No. 50 in the nation last year. Florida’s Wekiva High will visit Leesburg on September 20, before the opening of region play.
