Legendary Joe Hamilton steps down at Blackhawk

Blackhawk Cougars footballBlackhawk head football coach Joe Hamilton is calling it quits one year away spending a half century as a high school head coach.

TimesOnline.com reports that Hamilton is stepping down after 49 years as a head coach, the last 39 at Blackhawk.  In stops with Blackhawk, Hempfield, Midland and New Brighton, Hamilton amassed an overall record of 342-170-11.  His record at Blackhawk is 295-155-8.

Hamilton retires #6 on Pennsylvania’s all-time coaching victories list.
