Heeeee’s back!

Todd Dodge, a seven-time Texas high school football championship coach, is coming out of retirement to be the head coach at Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. Dodge retired at the end of the 2021 season after leading Austin’s Westlake High to its third straight state championship.

Dodge takes over Chris Ross, who left the Leopards to become the offensive coordinator at Stephen F. Austin University. Last year, Lovejoy finished 12-2 and ranked No. 263 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

In 23 years as a high school football head coach, Dodge won 233 games. At the time of his retirement, he had Westlake on a 40-game win streak.

The National High School Coaches Association/High School Football America named Dodge its National Football Coach of the Year after the 2021 season.

In addition to the three state titles he won at Westlake, Dodge led Southlake Carroll to four state titles.
