Leroy wins Alabama 1A high school football state championship

Leroy beat Pickens County 42-20 on Thursday to win Alabama’s 1A championship at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium. Bears quarterback Brayden Huebner scored five rushing touchdowns with 270 yards on the ground.

The title is the sixth overall for Leroy. The other five came in 2A.

Leroy finishes 13-1. Pickens County wraps-up 11-4.
