Los Angeles Chargers honor 3 High School County Coaches of the Year at SoFi Stadium

Sunday was a very special day for three head high school football coaches in Southern California, who were honored by the Los Angeles Chargers during their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Casey Ash of West Hills High School (San Diego County), Dan Davidson of Western High (Orange County) and Lawrence Sarenana of North Valley Military (Los Angeles County) were introduced to the crowd at SoFi Stadium as the team’s 2021 County Coaches of the Year.

The winners were selected by an online voting contest held between November 2-10, 2021.

Each winner will be gets a $2,000 donation from the Chargers Impact Fund towards their school’s athletic department. Every Coach of the Week honoree (below) received a $1,000 donation from the Chargers.

For nearly two decades, the Chargers have teamed up with the NFL to host the team’s High School Football Coach of the Week program. Annually, this program recognizes high school football coaches who have made a difference in the lives of their players through leadership, hard work, and a special dedication to their young scholar athletes. All nominations are decided upon by the Chargers Coach of the Week Selection Committee comprised of California Interscholastic (CIF) Federation administrators, retired coaches, and more. Each winning Coach receives $1,000 to go to their school’s athletic department.
