Opelousas High School’s 2023 high school football title is no more. The Louisiana High School Athletic Association has stripped the school of its Division II Non-Select state championship reportedly for the use of an ineligible player. The LHSAA also suspended head coach Jimmy Zachery for one-year.

The school plans to appeal the ruling, which also includes Opelousas forfeiting all of its wins, including its 24-13 win over Cecelia in the championship game. It was the school’s first-ever football championship.
