The Tensas Parish School Board voted 3-2 earlier this week to discontinue the high school football program at Tensas High in St. Joseph, Louisiana. The move, driven by a significant drop in student enrollment and insufficient player participation.

The Tensas Panthers, who compete in Class 1A, have faced mounting challenges in recent years. With enrollment dwindling to fewer than 200 students, fielding a competitive team became increasingly difficult. The 2024 season underscored these struggles, as Tensas finished with a 1-9 record, their sole victory a 16-14 triumph over Plain Dealing in Week 1.
