Loyola Academy knocks-off No. 97 Brother Rice for Illinois 8A crown

Loyola Academy completed one of the best turnarounds in Illinois high school football history Saturday night. After a 3-3 start that included a 35-3 loss to Brother Rice, the Rambler captured the Class 8A title with a 13-3 win over the Crusaders, who entered the game ranked No. 97 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.

The Ramblers were led by quarterback Jack Fallon, who had 17 carries for 55 yards. He was also 13-of-20 passing for 130 yards.

Loyola’s championship appearance was its sixth in the last eight years.
