Madison Academy wins third straight Alabama high school football title

Make it three in a row for Madison Academy as the Mustangs won their third third straight Alabama Class 3A title Thursday by defeating Dale County 70-34.

According to al.com’s game summary, Madison was led by Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year Kerryon Johnson, who set a Super 7 record with six touchdowns. The Auburn verbal commit ran for 178 yards on just eight carries.

The 70 points set a Super 7 record for points by one team, plus the two teams combined to set records for points and total offensive yards (1,012).
