Maine’s winningest high school football coach retires

After 40 years on the sidelines and ten Maine state high school football championships, John Wolfgram is calling it quits.  With 309 all-time victories, Wolfgram, who coached for the last decade at Cheverus, is Maine all-time leader in wins.

Wolfgram, who’s lifetime record stands at 309-92-1, led South Portland to four state titles,  Gardiner to three state championships, Cheverus to two state crowns and Madison to one title.

Wolfgram is a member of the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.
