In July after his Male Bulldogs won the National Select 7 on 7 in Hoover, Alabama, head coach Chris Wolfe told us on the High School Football America Radio Show that he felt he had the type of talent that could take his program to the top of Kentucky high school football.  After a 4-0 start, which includes a 42-13 win over crosstown rival Trinity Friday, the Bulldogs are now making noise outside of the Bluegrass State as they enter this week’s High School Football America Top 25, which is based on our proprietary algorithm.

Male, which is averaging nearly 50 points a game on offense and has only given-up 26 points on defense, is one of two new teams in this week’s algorithm rankings.  American Heritage of Plantation, Florida enters at #25.  The Patriots only loss this season was by one point to #4 DeMatha (Maryland).

Male and American Heritage’s entrance into the Top 25 was made possible by losses by Georgia’s #15 Archer and #23 McEachern.

The biggest mover this week is St. Joseph Regional from Montvale, New Jersey.  The Green Knights jumped from #20 to #15 after a down-to-the-wire win over former #16 St. Edward from Ohio.  The close road loss keeps the Eagles in this week’s poll at #25.

Looking ahead —this week’s big game will be Saturday in New Jersey between #16 IMG Academy (Florida) and #20 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey).

We’ll release The Other 25 (#26 through #50) on Monday.
