2022 starts with Male as the No. 1 team in the High School Football America Kentucky Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Bulldogs are followed by defending 6A champ St. Xavier at No. 2.

Last year, St. X won the state title with a 31-21 win over Male.

In our preseason national rankings, Male is ranked No. 98. St. Xavier is No. 161 in the High School Football America 300. The Tigers will get a real test in its season opener against No. 7 Owensburg.
