Marietta’s climb in the High School Football America 100 national rankings has led to the Blue Devils climbing to the top of our Georgia high school football Top 25.

Marietta jumps over former Georgia No. 1 Colquitt County this week, thanks in part to the fact that the Blue Devils’ strength of schedule improved after St. Joseph’s Prep’s (Pennsylvania) beat former national No. 3 St. John’s College High School (Washington, DC) last weekend. Marietta, which beat SJP a couple of week’s ago 21-17, is No. 9 in the national rankings.

The Blue Devils will try to strengthen their hold on the Georgia No. 1 ranking this weekend when it faces No. 7 Grayson. Former No. 1 Colquitt County will try to get back to the top spot with a Top 25 marquee matchup against No. 17 Valdosta.

It was a bad weekend for defending state champs Milton (7A), Lee County (6A) and Blessed Trinity (4A), who all lost over the weekend.

In the Battle of Trojans, Peach County’s impressive win over Lee County pushes PC up eleven spots to No. 13 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

Woodward Academy’s defeat of Blessed Trinity moves the War Eagles into the Top 25 at No. 24. The Titans drop out of the rankings.

Also new to the Top 25 this week is Jones County at No. 25.
