Marion Local wins a record 12th Ohio high school football championship

Marion Local beat Newark Catholic 42-7 Saturday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton to win a record 12th Ohio high school football championship. The Flyers entered the Division VII championship game tied with St. Ignatius for the most title in Ohio high school football history.

Marion Local has now won eight titles in the last 11 years. All of the Flyers’ championships have been won since 2000.

Newark Catholic owns eight high school football championships.
