Mark Elder, head coach at Ohio’s Archbishop Moeller resigns

After three seasons as the head coach at Archbishop Moeller, Mark Elder is stepping down. Elder made his announcement on Friday.

After a 3-6 start in his first season, Elder led the Crusaders to back-to-back berths in the Ohio Division I state semifinals. In 2021, Moeller finished 11-4 with a No. 78 ranking in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Last year, the Crusaders were 13-2 with a No. 39 ranking in our national rankings.

Elder’s record was 27-12 with the 2022 Greater Catholic League South championship.

The search now begins for the program’s fourth coach since 2018.
