Massachusetts moves high school football to 2021

Massachusetts is the 15th state to move high school football to next year.

On Wednesday, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Board of Directors approved a recommendation from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education allowing low and moderate-risk sports to play with modifications during the fall season. Higher-risk sports, like football, would be played during a “floating season.”

The floating season would begin February 22 and run through April 25.
