It’s official, Mater Dei’s run to a third straight High School Football America “mythical” national championship is now completely in the Monarchs’ hands. Friday night’s 38-24 win over former No. 2 St. John Bosco solidifies Mater Dei’s grip on the top spot in the latest High School Football America 100 national high school football rankings.

Now, all the Santa Ana, California school has to do is run-the-table, which will probably include another matchup with Bosco for a national championship three-peat.

Why is the path to the national championship clear for Mater Dei?

St. Frances Academy moves up to No. 2 this week, but the Panthers have already lost to the Monarchs 34-18 back in September. St. John Bosco slips to No. 3 this week in our national rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.
