McDonogh moves to No. 5 in the latest High School Football America Maryland Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Eagles jump four spots after taking down former No. 5 Loyola Blakefield 42-21 last Friday. The Dons drop to No. 6 this week in our statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

No. 1 Good Counsel and No. 2 DeMatha open Washington Catholic Athletic Conference play this weekend.

GC opens against St. John’s College High School (Washington, DC) and DeMatha plays Gonzaga (Washington). All four teams are ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings — Good Counsel is No. 27; DeMatha is ranked No. 31; SJC is No. 38; and Gonzaga is No. 288.
