After a nearly two month stoppage, the Michigan high school football playoffs resume this weekend with the 11-man tournaments playing quarterfinal round games and the 8-Man tournaments playing state semifinal games. The postseason was put on hiatus in mid-November after state officials halted all high school sports due to an increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the state.

The playoffs will resume without two 11-man teams. Oscoda and Stevensville Lakeshore have both decided not to play in the state quarterfinals. Oscoda (9-0) decided to not play its Division 7 quarterfinal game against Traverse City St. Francis due to a low numbers of players, which is the same reason that Lakeshore (7-2) chose not to play its Division 3 game against DeWitt.
