Middlebury ran its win streak to 22 straight Saturday, beating St. Johnsbury 28-7 in the Vermont Division I championship game.  The victory gives the Tigers their second straight state title.

Middlebury’s defense was the key as it shutdown the Hilltoppers that were averaging 38 points a game coming into the title contest.

Middlebury finishes 11-o, while St. Johnsbury is 10-1 after suffering its only loss of the season.
