Middletown, which was idle this past weekend, begins 2021 ranked No. 1 in the High School Football America Delaware Top 5 powered by NFL Play Football. The Cavaliers open the season this weekend against Meade High School from Maryland.

Falling-in behind the Cavs is Smyrna, coming-off a loss to national power Bergen Catholic from New Jersey. Smyrna and Middletown will meet on September 17.

Defending Division I champ Sussex Central is No. 3, followed by Salesianum at No. 4 and William Penn at No. 5.
