The victory also helped the Eagles climb to No. 20 in the national rankings from its previous spot at No. 51 heading into the championship. The loss drops County County to No. 2.
6A champ Lee County and Class 5A Bainbridge are the biggest movers in the rankings. Lee County moves up five spots to No. 5 in the statewide rankings. The Trojans have one more game left against St. Frances Academy (Maryland) in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series this weekend.
Bainbridge entered the 5A championship game against No. 9 Warner Robins unranked after a 2-4 start. The Bearcats climb to No. 14 after surprising the Demons 47-41 in triple overtime.
