Pine-Richland, which finished No. 61 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings for the 2020-2021 season, is opening a new chapter in its football history. Wednesday night, the school board hired Steve Campos as the school’s new head football coach.
Campos, who was an assistant at Seneca Valley last year, takes over for Eric Kasperowicz, whose contract wasn’t renewed earlier this year. Kasperowicz’s contract wasn’t renewed amid an investigation into hazing allegations.
P-R won Pennsylvania’s 5A state title in November, the school’s second state championship under Kasperowicz. After taking over in 2013, Kasperowicz’s record was 85-18.
Campos has lots of college coaching experience, including a stint from 1992 through 2020 as the head coach at Bethany College.
