Nazareth Academy wins Illinois 5A high school football title with second half comeback

Nazareth Academy scored 31 unanswered points in the Illinois 5A championship game to beat Joliet Catholic 38-20 Saturday at Illinois State University’s Hancock Stadium. The win caps an impressive comeback by the Roadrunners, who started the season 0-4. They were the first time in state championship history to enter the title game with five regular season losses.

Overall, the title is the fifth all-time for Nazareth Academy.
