National power Bishop Gorman, winners of 13 of the last 14 state championships in Nevada’s largest high school football classification, will play another high-quality, out-of-state schedule this year. The Gaels, who finished No. 5 last year in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, will face five teams in 2024 that finished in our national rankings last year.
The start of the season will be tough with three straight games against opponents that won state titles last season. If, Gorman can start 3-0, the Gaels will definitely be in the national championship chat.
BG will open at home against Hawaii-power Kahuku. The Red Raiders finished No. 15 nationally last season. They’ve won three straight Hawaii Open Division titles.
The Gaels will then travel to Florida to face St. Thomas Aquinas, which won its fifth straight state championship. STA finished the season No. 6 in the nation.

The Gaels, who won the 2016 HSFA national title, come home to play another SoCal Trinity League team in Orange Lutheran. OLu, despite a 5-6 record, finished No. 80 in America.
The in-state part of the schedule begins the following week when Gorman travels to Liberty. The Patriots snapped the Gaels run of state titles in 2019.
