New Canaan beats arch-rival Darien for another Connecticut high school football championship

For the second time in two weeks, New Canaan beat Thanksgiving rival Darien, but Saturday’s win gave the Rams their second straight Connecticut Class L state football championship. Saturday’s 28-21 win was a big closer than NC’s 31-17 win on Thanksgiving morning.

New Canaan scored two touchdowns in the final 5:30 to win its 14th overall state championship.

The win was New Canaan’s 12th straight after losing its season opener 26-23 to Shelton.
