After four years, New Jersey has decided instant replay in games isn’t worth the trouble. New Jersey Interscholatic Athletic Association executive director Colleen Maguire has announced that the NJSIAA executive committee has decided against the use of the technology.

Last year, two regional championship games used instant replay, which led the NJSIAA to review whether the state should continue to re-check on field calls.

When the state implemented instant replay in 2018, it was the first to do so extensively during the regular season.

The NJSIAA modeled the rule to what the NFL and NCAA were using. Coaches were the only one who had the the right to issue a challenge. Reviews could be used mostly for scoring plays and turnovers.
