New Lothrop raced-out to a 35-7 lead in the Michigan Division 7 high school football state championship Saturday and then hung on to capture the championship 42-35 against Traverse City St. Francis. It was the school’s second state championship in the last three years.
Julius Garza’s kickoff return gave NL a lead it would never give up.
