The Select Division I title champ pits No. 67 John Curtis (11-2) against No. 122 Brother Martin (9-5).

In the state semifinals, John Curtis scored 21 unanswered points to beat defending champ Catholic (Baton Rouge) 24-21. Catholic was ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 17 in our national rankings at game time. JC owns a state-record 27 state championships.

Brother Martin scored the final 41 points in its 55-24 win over Carencro in the semis. Saturday’s game will be the Crusaders’ first state championship appearance in 33 years.

On October 28, John Curtis beat Brother Martin 23-14 in their District 9-5A showdown.

No. 111 Destrehan (13-0) faces No. 127 Ruston (13-1) in the Non-Select Division I title game.

Destrehan will be looking for its first state title since going back-to-back in 2007 and 2008. After beating the defending state champ Zachary last week, Ruston will be appearing in its first title game since 1998.
