Ali Beh of Shabazz High School in Newark, NJ has been named this week’s Girls Flag High School Coach of the Week Game Changer presented by Visa. Coach Beh will receive a $2,000 donation to benefit the school’s flag football program. Along with the monetary award, Coach Beh will be invited to attend the New York Jets preseason game in August, where he will be honored on field at MetLife Stadium.

In its first year, the Jets Girls Flag High School Coach of the Week Game Changer presented by Visa award is given to a coach in the Tri-State area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school and their student-athletes.

The Bulldogs wrapped up the regular season with a 6-0 win over Newark Central, finishing 7-0 overall and claiming SFC Independence Division champions. Coach Beh grew up in Newark, NJ and attended North 13th Vocational Technical High School. He played football at Weequahic High School, where he was a senior captain and helped lead the team to an undefeated season and championship title in 2016. After graduating from Kean University, he returned to Weequahic as the linebackers and special teams coach, but later went to William Patterson University, where he served as the running back coach and video coordinator last year. In addition to coaching, Beh is currently pursuing a degree in Athletic Administration. Beh will look to advance Shabazz’s undefeated season in their upcoming playoff game vs. Montville.
