To kick off the action, the Jets hosted New Dorp High School from the New York City Public School Athletic League (PSAL) for a scrimmage. Prior to kickoff, the Jets presented their annual donation of $50,000 to the PSAL. The Girls Flag PSAL is comprised of 12 divisions and over 60 schools throughout New York City. Each borough of the city is represented in the league by at least one division. The Jets helped launch the league in 2011 with approximately 20 founding schools. Since then, the Jets support has expanded to include over 60 schools and over $500,000 in monetary donations to support the league. Each year, the Jets host and recognize the PSAL Girls Flag Football Champions on the field at a pre-season home game.

2023 Gatorade Flag Series

New this season, the Jets will host the Gatorade Girls Flag Series at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. The Gatorade Girls Flag Series will feature eight games with teams from both New York and New Jersey.

For winning Gatorade Player of the Week, a $1,000 donation will be awarded in the players’ name to their high school to support girls flag football. New York Jets X Nike High School Girls Flag Football History

2021, the Jets and Nike launched the first-ever High School Girls Flag Football League in New Jersey with eight high schools from the Super Football Conference. In 2022, the league returned for its second season, expanding further throughout New Jersey and onto Long Island to include 43 high schools across five conferences. The league has grown to almost 110 high schools this season, and further expanded into Hudson Valley. In launching the league, the Jets sought to have the sport adopted as a varsity sport in New York and New Jersey. Girls Flag was recently adopted as a championship sport in New York, and New Jersey will vote to make it a Pilot Sport this spring.
