The battle for No. 1 in the High School Football America New York Top 10 got a little closer this past weekend with No. 2 Iona Prep beating No. 3 Cardinal Hayes 52-48 behind Derek Robertson’s four touchdown passes. The Gaels now own victories over Hayes, which stays at No. 3 and No. 5 Archbishop Stepanic.

Who’s the best in the Catholic High School Football League AAA Division will become a little bit clearer over the next several weeks starting with this weekend’s games featuring No. 1 St. Anthony’s taking on Stepanic and No. 3 Cardinal Hayes faces Top 10 newcomer Monsignor Farrell, which checks-in at No. 7.
