The third time wasn’t the charm for defending Nevada 5A champ Bishop Gorman against defending High School Football America national champ Mater Dei. The Monarchs, who now own a 3-0 record against the Gaels, needed to overcome a 21-7 third quarter deficit in order to leave Las Vegas with 24-21 victory.

Leading the comeback was junior quarterback Elijah Brown, who still hasn’t lost a game as the team’s quarterback since his freshman season. Brown is a perfect 19-0 after throwing for three touchdowns.

Andre Medina booted a 25-yard field goal with 3:32 to play to given the Monarchs the victory.
