Despite one of the toughest schedules in the nation, two-time defending High School Football America “mythical” national champ Mater Dei is proving a three-peat isn’t out of the question. Saturday night, the No. 1 Monarchs cruised past No. 3 St. Frances Academy (Maryland) 34-18 in the Trinity League vs. USA Showcase in Bellflower, California.

This one was never in doubt with senior quarterback Bryce Young, a USC-recruit, rushing for four touchdowns.

Mater Dei (4-0) has now beaten three teams in the High School Football America 100 — Corona Centennial (California), Centennial (Arizona) and St. Frances. After a bye week, the Monarchs will travel to the nation’s capital to play nationally-ranked St. John’s College High School.

St. Frances Academy falls to 3-1.
